I’m starting this long weekend off on a bit of a seafood kick. I did my grocery shopping online for the first time ever, and may have gotten just a little carried away. As a result, I’ve got quite a few delicious (if I may say so myself) seafood recipes coming your way. I want to say these crab cakes are one of my favourites, but I just can’t choose… Maybe you should decide and let me know!

I’ve only made crab cakes once before – I actually made them for my old blog, and they turned out amazing… I have absolutely zero excuse or reason for not making them again! However, that’s changing today. I’ve decided to recreate the recipe (and take much better photos than what I had for my first blog!) because these crab cakes are delicious, and so easy to make!

How simple, you might ask? Simply combine all the ingredients, form them into patties, and fry! Can it get any easier than that? Now, in case you want to add a little pizzazz to your crab cakes, I recommend serving these with sweet chilli mayo (mayonnaise + sweet chilli sauce + a squeeze of lemon, mixed). If sweet chilli sauce doesn’t tickle your fancy, try seafood sauce or tartar! YUM!

Steps

1
Done

Break up the crab meat into smaller pieces, and so it's in strips rather than in chunks, and place into a large mixing bowl.

2
Done

Add the other ingredients (apart from the vegetable oil) into the bowl in any order, and, using your hands, combine them together well.

3
Done

Form the mixture into patties. I made 12, but obviously the amount depends on how big or small you want to make them.

4
Done

Heat the vegetable oil in a large frypan or a skillet over medium-high heat.

5
Done

Wait for the oil to get hot, and then place the patties in (I cooked 4 at a time.)

6
Done

Cook each side for about 2-3 minutes, or until golden-brown.

7
Done

When both sides are cooked, place the patties on paper towel to absorb the oil, then serve.
